James' Take: Lionhead Studios closing down

Microsoft is set to close down Lionhead studios, creators of the Fable series and cancelled the next game in the series, Fable Legends.

The general manager of Microsoft Studios Europe, Hanno Lemke announced the decision on a post ti the Xbox News site. He said "These changes are taking effect as Microsoft Studios continues to focus its investment and development on the games and franchises that fans find most exciting and want to play."

This is relatively sad news for me and many others, as I grew up playing on Xbox 360, and played all three of the original Fable games. Personally, I found the games really exciting and engaging as you could make your own decisions that would affect the story and the ending you get.

There was also a certain dark humour that I found absolutely hilarious and the storytelling in my opinion, was great. This is a studio that will be missed, but there is always a point where you have to put a franchise to rest before it is run into the dirt.

It makes youwonder which franbhise will come next too. What will happen to Assassin's Creed? Or Borderlands? Let's just hope some of our favourite franchises aren't next on the to-go list.
