The Week Ahead

That's right, it's this time of year again: Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is coming out worldwide for PS4, PS3. Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on Friday. After being teased in April with Snapchat links and trailers, it's finally coming out. This time, the story is set in 2065, in which cybernetic enhancements have been used to create supersoldiers that fight against each other, in an age where air defenses have made bombing from the air obsolete. Law and Order: SVU's Christopher Meloni and Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff voice characters, while Stargate SG-1's Tony Amendola and Ben Browder also lend their voices. Strangely, Seattle Seahawks player Marshawn Lynch also makes an appearance as the villain. Zombies also gets 2 storylines - one titled Shadows of Evil that stars Jeff Goldblum and Ron Perlman, and the other that continues on from Black Ops 2's "Origins" map.

Gameplay has changed quite a bit too. The campaign has been given a more open level design, less linear maps and 4-player co-op, as well as customization, progression systems and a Realistic difficulty that means that, if you get shot once, you're dead. Multiplayer gets a new freerunning system with jump packs, as well as Specialist soldiers that can be unlocked midway through matches and a Paintshop feature that allows players to create skins for their guns. Lastly, Zombies gets an XP progression system.

The annoyingly-titled Need for Speed launches for PS4 and Xbox One on Tuesday in North America and Thursday in Europe, and marks Ghost Games' return to the franchise. It's set in the fictional city of Ventura Bay (Based on LA) and has 5 different gameplay types: Speed, Style, Crew, Build and Outlaw, as well as 5 different overarching storylines and plenty of vehicle customization.
