Friday Flix: 13th March

Yesterday, BBC announced their Make It Digital Initiative, which aims to get kids in the UK to learn coding in order to combat the shortage of future coders. As well as making many online coding games based on franchises such as Doctor Who and handing out coding devices to EVERY CHILD in Year 7 in the UK, BBC are also making a series of documentaries, one on Alan Turing and Bletchley Park, and another on the development behind Grand Theft Auto. Judging by the wording, I can't be sure if it's based on the first GTA or a series as a whole, but i'm sure it'll be pretty interesting. There'll also be other programs such as a talent show called Girls Can Code and a lot of interesting iWonder guides that I recommend you take a look at.

Next up, the upcoming Dead Rising: Watchtower movie, which is coming to Crackle for free on March 27th, will be coming to Xbox consoles a week earlier on March 20th, Major Nelson announced. It's pretty interesting, considering that Crackle is actually owned by Sony, but Crackle is a free service that Sony probably don't make much money from, so they don't care. Also, Crackle won't be operating in the UK after April 1st, so UK viewers will only have a short window to watch it. Judging by the trailer, it looks a bit average, but the satirical advert at the start is a good laugh.
