Friday Flix: February 13th!

Remember the Hitman movie that came out years ago and pretty much sucked! Well, first-time filmmaker Aleksander Bach didn't get the message, and he just released the trailer for Hitman: Agent 47, a complete reboot of a 1-film series. It's got a pretty star-studded cast, with Homeland's Rupert Friend playing Agent 47, while Star Trek's Zachary Quinto plays John Smith, a new character with a hugely common name that seems to be the villain, though not much of the story is told during the trailer: Agent 47 is being hunted by a corporation, but there's a couple of people who are willing to help him in order to find one of their father's. No names are given, but you know what? It actually looks quite good!

Besides all of the B-movie dialogue (Which I won't fully protest to, since it kinda fits in with the tone) it actually looks like a balls-to-the-wall action movie with crazy explody sequences. While the film seems serious at first, the action just seems to be as crazy as it can get: in one scene, a some agents harpoon 47's car and proceed to zipwire onto it; in another, 47 kicks a table with a rifle on it, which proceeds to shoot the chain on his cuffs so he can promptly beat up the guards and steal their uniforms. Overall, I'm actually quite looking forward to it: it just looks like an enjoyable movie to watch.

In other news, Law & Order showed an episode where one of their female officers is assaulted at a games convention. Gaming puns and Gamergate references ensue, basically confirming that the shows creators had the WORST IDEA EVER. Even just watching the trailer reveals how truly bad it is.
