Craven eSports

If you get that title joke, congrats on your knowledge of football grounds!

Esports company Gfinity have announced that they'll be building the first ever dedicated eSports arena in the UK, imaginatively titled the Gfinity Arena. It'll be located in the Vue Fulham Broadway cinema-plex (Which is ironically situated right outside's Chelsea FC's Stamford Bridge stadium. Let's see who has the sweatiest crowd!) and will be hosting its first championship in March this year, when the Gfinity Championships start. It'll be a year-long series of competitions, including eSports games such as Hearthstone and CS: GO, plus Call of Duty and FIFA. It'll be interesting to see how many people would want to see a virtual football match rather than a real one!

These competitions aren't small either: each prize is in the thousands, with some being as much as $20,000, despite the Gfinity Arena only holding around 600 people. Still, this is huge proof that eSports are starting to expand into areas that weren't popular originally, and that's all thanks to adding more games. Events with games such as DOTA 2 and League of Legends, despite being popular, wouldn't be as popular with the general UK crowd as games such as Call of Duty and FIFA, as the sales charts show every week. eSports are adapting to different countries, and that'll probably evolve as the movement gets bigger throughout the world.

In other news that'll really suck for a lot of people, terrible, broken Early Access game The Stomping Land may have finally died! Character Artists Vlad Konstantinov confirmed on the game's forums that he hadn't been contacted by "Jig" (The project leader, I imagine) in months, despite sending him many messages. He confirmed his deaprture from the project, and told fans that, if Jig didn't reply, the project is as good as dead. Judging by how The Stomping Land's website was LITERALLY A JPEG, the project was doomed from the start!

The Trailer of the Day today is the Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Last Fight Trailer. As well as being a fighting the game, it makes the Trailer of the Day because someone gets hit into a helicopter. What else?

What do you guys think? Will you be paying a visit to the Gfinity Arena? And did you pay money for The Stomping Land? Tell us in the comments!
