*endless weeping*

Scream-inducing news today, as one of the most reliable, light-hearted and industry-trend-ignoring game series has had it's soul eaten. That's right, the upcoming Lego Batman 3 game is getting a season pass and therefore DLC, Warner Bros announced in a press release that Eurogamer spotted. There'll be six packs, each containg one story mission and new characters, with the first 3 packs pooling together 40 new minifigures to play as. Each pack will cost £2.55, and the season pass will cost £12.97, saving your once-innocent wallet just over £2. The first 3 packs will launch on the day of release for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and PC, meaning that Wii U, 3DS and PS Vita owners "sadly" won't get the DLC. What the release is basically saying is that, if you're not a heartless, soulless , hollowed-out body, migrate to Nintendo land.

It's just a test of character, really.

The first 3 packs are the Man of Steel pack, where you play out Superman's origin story and send him to Earth when Krypton is being destroyed, The Dark Knight Pack, in which you chase down Two Face, a scene from The Dark Knight, and the Batman 75th Pack, in which you.... celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Bat? Well maybe this DLC isn't all bad, then...

That's a good point: DLC has been done well, and with Traveller's Tales never ceasing to put charm, care and wit in their games, this could be another one of those great DLCs. With a pretty low price, new characters (Hopefully meaning new abilities) and new levels, too, this could be a great add-on to the core game. And that's why I really don't mind this DLC at all: it's only an add-on. Even if you don't buy the DLC, there'll still be a long narrative to discover, there'll still be lots of different set-pieces, and most of all, there'll still be over 150 characters.

But what do you guys think? Are you annoyed that such a pure series is getting DLC? Tell us in the comments below!
